Wastewater

Widefield Water and Sanitation District operates a state-of-the-art Wastewater Reclamation Facility that includes:

·        Headworks Facility (Screening & Grit Removal)

·        Primary Clarification

·        Anaerobic Basin

·        Anoxic Basins

·        Aeration Basins

·        Secondary Clarification

·        Dewatering Facility

·        Disinfection/De-Chlorination Facility

The capacity of our Wastewater Reclamation Facility is currently 2.5 million gallons per day, with a future build-out of 5 million gallons per day. Our facility is operated and maintained by Certified Wastewater Operators through the State of Colorado Department of Health and Environmental Services.

The Wastewater Department staff inspects and cleans the entire collection system at a frequency that exceeds national standards to minimize sewer back-ups and disruptions to service.

We are very sensitive about odors and have design improvements ready to be built as soon as funding becomes available. Please contact Mike Morgan, Wastewater Department Supervisor, at 719-955-0548 to report odors or to arrange a tour of our facility.
