Boring/Excavation/Directional Drilling Permit
If a contractor/customer commences work without a completed and approved permit and damages the District's infrastructure, they will be fined $10,000 immediately.
All applicants/contractors will be required to submit the following items to Widefield Water and Sanitation District prior to approval of each Boring/Excavation/Directional Drilling permit:
- Payment of $500.00 per hole or bore for the Boring/Excavation/Directional Drilling permit fee.
- Proof of certificate of good standing and/or license to do business in the State of Colorado.
- Copy of a valid construction permit or other form of written approval for the applicant to work in the City of Fountain and/or El Paso County, as applicable.
- Proof of General Liability Insurance in a minimum amount of $2,000,000 naming Widefield water and Sanitation District as an "additional insured".
- If applicable, approval of a Hydrant Rental Permit Application and payment of all associated fees.
- Must submit construction and/or boring plans for review by the District.

By submittal of an application for this Boring/Excavation/Directional Drilling Permit, the applicant/contractor agrees to satisfy all of the following criteria:
- Applicant must ensure that all utility locates are complete prior to any work.
- Aplicant is responsible for post-work cleanup of areas.
- Applicant understands and agrees that if any violation of this permit occurs, there will be a $1,000.00 fine for each violation.
A fine of $10,000.00 will apply if any work is commenced prior to approval of a permit. The commencing of any Boring/Excavation/Drilling without proper locates could cause substantial harm to public health and safety of the community and create substantial burden on the District's operations.
A minimum of 5 days and maximum of 30 days after submittal of a complete permit application will be required prior to Widefield Water and Sanitation District's approval of any Boring/Excavation/Directional Drilling Permits.
All Boring/Excavation/Directional Drilling permits expire 60 days from date of approval unless further authorization is obtained from Widefield Water and Sanitation District to extend the permit or an additional permit is issued.
